GG Corporation has unveiled the “Living Heritage” initiative to honor the values, spirit and knowledge cultivated and shared by the global Vietnamese community. Reporter Bich Ngoc (VIR) spoke with Luu Bao Huong, Chair of GG Corporation, about the project’s mission, objectives and long-term vision.

Core elements of the initiative

Living Heritage is conceived as a comprehensive content ecosystem centered on the website livingheritage.vn — a repository for self-learning resources and in-depth profiles of inspirational Vietnamese figures worldwide. The ecosystem includes the e-book Living Heritage – The Universal Within (bilingual release on Amazon) and an annual international arts program guided by the philosophy of “edutainment.”

A highlight of 2025 was the IMMERSED jazz concert held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 15, featuring Vietnamese–Danish jazz legend Niels Lan Doky, violinist Bui Cong Duy, and performers Thanh Lam and Ha Tran. The production was led by director Pham Hoang Nam, Music Director Quoc Trung and costume designer Tom Trandt.

Together, these activities form an ecosystem that links knowledge, inspiration and art to bring Vietnamese cultural heritage closer to domestic and international audiences.

What drove GG Corporation to start Living Heritage?

Ms. Luu Bao Huong explained her inspiration came from observing how societies in Northern Europe, particularly Sweden, cultivate inner life and wellbeing — making time for reflection and mental health. This led her to ask why Vietnam, despite abundant talent, lacked similar spaces to nurture inner development. She conceived Living Heritage to help individuals confidently engage with the world while encouraging a desire to return and contribute to the homeland.

The first volume of the e-book series, The Universal Within – Vũ trụ của Tâm, profiles eight notable Vietnamese figures chosen not only for achievement but for inner depth, humility and contribution to community — criteria central to the publication.

Why emphasize spiritual and humanistic values in a digital age?

Facing the rapid advance of AI and digital technologies, Ms. Huong stressed that spiritual depth, independent thinking and the capacity to listen inwardly are irreplaceable human qualities. While AI can save time and enhance creativity, it cannot supplant the inner life, identity and humanistic values that are uniquely ours. Living Heritage therefore focuses on nourishing body — heart — mind to help individuals maintain inner balance amid modern pressures.

Message and selection criteria of The Universal Within

The key message of The Universal Within is that every person harbors a meaningful inner universe deserving of respect. Selection criteria for featured figures include professional achievement, healthy personal life and internal depth — qualities that inspire readers to reflect on their own lives.

IMMERSED — an artistic milestone

Ms. Huong said the ambition is to produce a concert of international standard — not only in terms of artists invited but through rigorous production: spatial design, sound, lighting and the dedication of creative and technical teams. IMMERSED was staged as a single, unrecorded performance to provide an intimate, unique experience for those present.

Although initial funding comes largely from the founders, the Foundation aims to attract broader support from businesses, international partners and the community. Ms. Huong emphasizes that intellectual and professional contributions are as valuable as financial resources in creating sustainable social impact.

Ultimately, Living Heritage seeks to provide spaces where people can pause and cultivate the inner life — a genuine “luxury” in the digital era — thus building a resilient foundation for Vietnam’s human future.
