“Heritage for the Future”: a convergence of knowledge, art and emotion

On November 15, the “Living Heritage – Legacy for the Future” exhibition and, later that evening, the Jazz Concert – IMMERSED took place at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City. The events formed a convergence of knowledge, art and emotion, inviting audiences to immerse in spaces of spiritual, humanistic and creative values.

The exhibition was free to the public to encourage reflection and the propagation of Vietnamese heritage values. The Living Heritage project gathers and honors authentic life values of the Vietnamese community worldwide, serving as a bridge between lived experience, knowledge and a deep worldview inherited from previous generations.

The exhibition presented art displays, calligraphy and a multimedia platform that retraced the lives, ideas and inspirations of Vietnamese figures with international influence across medicine, finance, arts and culture.

The project operates a multimedia platform including the website www.livingheritage.vn, the bilingual e-book series Living Heritage (to be released globally on Amazon), and an annual calendar of international-class artistic events. The IMMERSED concert exemplified the edutainment philosophy — blending high-caliber musical performance with educational depth.

At the same time, the Living Heritage Foundation was officially launched to support development in culture, education and healthcare. Its first initiative is partnering with Báo Thanh Niên to award the Nguyen Thai Binh Scholarship (VND 500 million) for students in flood-affected central regions of Vietnam, helping them recover after natural disasters.

The Foundation will also foster multisensory artistic inspiration among youth, viewing art as a gateway to spiritual depth, creativity and inner resilience. In 2025–2026 the Foundation will support the Carl Bechstein Piano Competition Vietnam – Thailand 2026 and the Grand Opus Performing Competition (GOPC), creating international-stage opportunities for young performers.

The event also launched the e-book The Universal Within – Vũ trụ của TÂM (Vol. 1), profiling notable Vietnamese figures worldwide and exploring the “universe within” — where spiritual strength, compassion and humane thinking underpin sustainable success and happiness.

A highlight of this year’s exhibition was a precious calligraphy by the late Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh bearing the characters “An Trú”, expressing a refined state of inner stillness. The work, from Ngô Art Gallery’s collection, was displayed for the first time in the project context, reminding visitors of the power of mindfulness in contemporary life.

Visitors also experienced performances on a C. Bechstein piano, the The Universal Within Aroma Therapy collection and the Living Heritage Lifestyle collection — creations that blend art, life philosophy and contemporary spirit.

The organizers hope audiences will not only enjoy world-class artistic presentations but also become part of an ongoing journey in which everyone contributes to preserving and propagating modern Vietnamese heritage: living with excellence, humanity and sustainability.
