Niels Lan Doky: “Hanoi and Vietnam are always beautiful in my heart”
Living Heritage, through its exhibition and the Jazz Concert – Immersed, opens a journey that honors heritage, art, and emotions — a place where knowledge and spirit converge, spreading the essence of meaningful living to the community.
Nearly a month after announcing the Living Heritage project, GG Corporation continues its mission of promoting meaningful living values through two key activities: the “Living Heritage – Heritage for the Future” Exhibition and the Jazz Concert – Immersed, officially taking place on November 15, 2025, at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City. These two events mark the intersection of knowledge, art, and emotion, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a space filled with spiritual, humanistic, and creative values.
“Living Heritage – Heritage for the Future” Exhibition: Where heritage is narrated through art
The “Living Heritage – Heritage for the Future” exhibition brings to the public an artistic space combining calligraphy and multimedia installations, portraying the life journeys, philosophies, and inspirations of Vietnamese figures with global influence in medicine, finance, arts, and culture.
Living Heritage: Cherishing and passing down priceless life values to future generations
With the mission to gather and honor the authentic life values of Vietnamese people worldwide, GG Corporation launches the Living Heritage project as a space connecting experiences, knowledge, and profound worldviews of previous generations — preserving and passing them on to the future.
The project will unfold as a multimedia platform, including:
- The website www.livingheritage.vn – a self-learning platform for building a high-quality “mind space,” connecting audiences with globally influential and inspiring individuals.
- The annual “Living Heritage” digital publication, beginning with Volume 1: “The Universal Within,” scheduled to debut at the Living Heritage exhibition on November 15, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City and distributed worldwide on Amazon.
- International-standard annual art events — beginning with the Jazz Concert – IMMERSED, designed with the philosophy of Edutainment, creating a space where music holds profound educational value.
The exhibition also marks the debut of the digital book “The Universal Within” (Volume 1) — the opening edition in an annual series produced by GG Corporation. It features distinguished Vietnamese figures around the world who represent intellect, resilience, and creativity. The publication depicts journeys of exploring and sharing the “universe within” — where spiritual strength, compassion, and humanistic thinking form the foundation for sustainable success and well-being. Among the featured individuals are:
- Associate Professor – Dr. – Physician Phan Toàn Thắng, a globally renowned scientist in regenerative medicine and the first to develop umbilical cord membrane stem cell extraction technology, patented in more than 80 countries. He is known worldwide as “the scientist who turns waste into gold,” transforming discarded materials into knowledge that serves humanity.
- Sir Niels Lan Doky (Đỗ Kỳ Lân) – the Vietnamese-born “Jazz Knight,” a legendary pianist knighted by the Queen of Denmark for his outstanding contributions to international music. With over 46 albums and hundreds of performances at prestigious venues such as Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall, he stands as an icon of artistic freedom and creativity.
- Filmmaker, war correspondent, painter, and author Nguyễn Thị Xuân Phượng, age 96, embodies the spirit of being “young at heart.” After nearly 80 years of contribution, she continues to create and inspire through compassion, optimism, and love for life. She received France’s National Order of Merit (2011) and was honored in BBC’s 100 Women list in 2024.
The book is expected to be published bilingually in English and Vietnamese worldwide via Amazon, with selected stories also shared on the official website www.livingheritage.vn.
Additionally, the event features a rare calligraphy piece by the late Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, inscribed with the two characters “An Trú” (Be Still), displayed alongside an ikebana work by artist Nixon Trần. The combination of calligraphy and installation art creates a contemplative atmosphere, where the beauty of inner stillness is expressed through soft yet profound visual language. In the ikebana piece, the artist uses a tilted vase and a blooming flower balanced at a delicate moment — a silent dialogue with the essence of “An Trú” left behind by the Zen Master. The artwork is exhibited for the first time within the Living Heritage project, serving as a reminder of the power of stillness and the importance of mindfulness in contemporary life.

Visitors also have the opportunity to experience the world-renowned C. Bechstein piano, the “The Universal Within” Aroma Therapy Collection, and the “Living Heritage” Lifestyle Collection — creative expressions blending art, philosophy, and contemporary wellbeing. The exhibition is open free of charge, encouraging the public to reflect on and share Vietnamese heritage values.
Living Heritage Foundation – Nurturing values for the next generation
The event introduces the Living Heritage Foundation — the Heritage for the Future Fund — established to support cultural, educational, and humanitarian activities. Its first initiative partners with Thanh Niên Newspaper to award the Nguyễn Thái Bình – Flood-Affected Students Scholarship Fund, totaling 500 million VND, to support students in Central Vietnam after natural disasters and spread the spirit of resilience and compassion.

Staying committed to the Edutainment philosophy, the Foundation also launches programs that nurture multisensory artistic inspiration among Vietnamese youth — viewing art as a gateway to emotional depth, creativity, and inner strength. Through these initiatives, the Foundation aims to empower emerging talents to pursue the arts with confidence, while further sharing Vietnamese heritage values across modern life and the global arts landscape.
In 2025–2026, the Foundation will accompany the Carl Bechstein Vietnam – Thailand Piano Competition 2026, held in both countries, giving young talents access to broader artistic environments beyond domestic stages. The competition embraces the spirit of “The Art of Feeling,” emphasizing emotional expression and artistic subtlety — aligning with Living Heritage’s philosophy of nurturing spiritual life.
In parallel, the Foundation will also support the Grand Opus Performing Competition (GOPC) 2026, one of the region’s largest competitions for Piano, Violin, Viola, and Cello. GOPC holds preliminary rounds in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand before a grand finale featuring two orchestras, four conductors, and more than 80 professional musicians performing alongside contestants.
Jazz Concert – IMMERSED: A journey of emotions and cultural dialogue
At 19:00 on the same day, the Jazz Concert – Immersed officially took place at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City. The event featured world-class jazz pianist Niels Lan Doky — Knight of the Danish Royal Order and hailed by Swing Journal as “the most talented pianist of his generation.” He performed alongside international artists Felix Pastorius (bass) and Jonas Johansen (drums), with special collaborations featuring renowned Vietnamese artists such as People’s Artist Thanh Lam, singer Hà Trần, saxophonist Quyền Thiện Đắc, People’s Artist Hoàng Anh, composer Hồ Hoài Anh, and others. The program was artistically directed by Phạm Hoàng Nam, with music direction by Quốc Trung and costume design by Tom Trandt, offering a vibrant intersection of global jazz and contemporary Vietnamese musical influences.

More than just a concert, IMMERSED is a multisensory experience, meticulously crafted in both sound and stage design. The venue is equipped with the world-class L-Acoustics sound system — a leading global brand in premium audio solutions for professional performances.
The fusion of refined stage design, international-standard acoustics, and exceptional performances promises audiences an immersive artistic experience — where music, space, and emotion flow as one harmonious stream, embodying the spirit Living Heritage seeks to convey.

Attendees not only enjoyed a night of world-class artistic performance but also became part of the Living Heritage journey — each contributing to the preservation and spread of modern Vietnamese heritage: a life of refinement, humanism, and sustainability.
